Herb of the week

Posted on March 10, 2014 at 4:03 PM
This weeks herbs are for awake and alertness, Eleuthero and Condonopsis, are two great ginseng for fantastic stimulant. Both herbs can give you a kick in the pants in the morning while also balancing stress levels and making you feel more energized throughout the day, however do not take them later in the afternoon, though, or you make feel to "buzzed" to sleep. Both work well as tinctures, capsules and t4ea, an they blend nice with chai herbs or cocoa nibs. Rhodiola, similarly good as a stimulating adaptogen for mental and physical energy, tends to  start working within the day. As an added bonus, it seems that rhodiola may improve your body's ability to make ATP(Adenosine triphosphate), a primary source of energy on the cellular level. Holy Basil performs well for person who needs calmer energy during the day. it has an overall relaxing effect without being to sedating. More to come next week. Check back and see.

Eleuthero and Condonopsis are better than Red Bull, the energy drink of choice by millennials. Commercial energy drinks contain so much caffeine and other ingredients that can elevate your blood pressure. Long-term use can cause heart disease. This is a health risk that people need to be aware of so they know what they are potentially facing for drinking an artificial pick-me-up drink in the morning and throughout the day. Consider these two ginseng herbs instead. They are much safer because they are plants and they are organic.
